Trainers Profile

Loh Yong Chye | Associate Senior Consultant

Yong Chye had been with the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) since its formation in 2013 until end 2019. During his 7-year stint with the PDPC, he was directly involved with the rollout of both of the data protection (DP) training courses curated by PDPC, namely “Fundamentals of the PDPA” course and the “Practitioner Certificate for Personal Data Protection (Singapore)” preparatory course. He led a team that launched the Singapore DPO competency framework and training roadmap in 2019 and was instrumental in making available multiple DP tools, resources and services to help organisations comply with the PDPA.

He also led the DPO team in the maintenance and enhancement of PDPC’s DP policies and processes, and was in charge of the communications and outreach team responsible for creating awareness of, and promoting compliance to, the PDPA.

Yong Chye had prior experience providing eGovernment consulting services to the Governments of Bhutan, Trinidad and Tobago and Moldova. When he was

with the then-IDA, he led and implemented organizational development and excellence initiatives and managed IT systems at two government agencies.
